I’m sure I could list literary and editorial conventions that get used time and time again without any comment from (often white) language prescriptivists who are out here policing language mostly against BIPOC and/or queer youths and millennials...but I won’t.

Am I exaggerating? Idk man, but whenever I see people complain about meme formats (outside of bigoted memes or ones that make it difficult for folks who use screen readers) it seems to come from one type of mindset.
