That if you just go outside or think positive, depression will stop! Or that depression is a temporary low point. It doesn’t go away, it can be treated. I really wish people would know this.

Sincere question, please disregard if not ok: do things that can improve general mood for a non-depressed person (exercise, sunlight, plants, etc) still make a difference for someone depressed? (Not talking about curing depression, just normal levels of mood improvement)

It really depends on the person. I find exercise does help me but it can be a struggle to even get to the gym sometimes. So it’s a hurdle to get there even if I know I feel better afterwards.
