England is quite literally “Land of the Angles”, which was its meaning in OE. “Enga londe”.
Widsith is very good, I recommend that one too. And yes, there are certainly stranger origin stories. My other area of study, Ireland, has some interesting ones.

I dont know much about Ireland and its history except the more surface level stuff, but hoping to find out more. Is irish roots/culture considered more Celtic (whatever that means) because it wasnt so heavily touched by the Romans?
