It is not yet noon and I have already helped unload 4 round bales (~600lbs ea) and then collected 35 gallons of water (~280lbs in containers that are either 56lbs or 40lbs). Then we let the sheep and goats out to nom some chickweed and wild onion, then we put them back.

Anyway earlier today I stumbled across a year old paper that showed via the changes to bone structure that Neolithic women in Britain were stronger than the women on the Cambridge rowing team.

And I just kind of stared at it and thought of the chores I do and the women I know who farm and the chores they do and I'd really like to see that study repeated but comparing Neolithic women to women who haul hay bales and wrangle livestock etc etc etc

Like I know women who can grab a 200lb sheep as it goes by, stop it, and set it on its butt. Then shear it. I feel like women farmers would be a better comparison than women rowers.

Three people have now explained to me why they used rowers. Y'all there was not a question mark on any tweets here, I didn't need one of you to do it, much less 3.

And 3 of you inside 15 minutes. Did some kind of bat signal go up? Let me reassure everyone once again that I'm not a fucking idiot and I can grasp simple concepts like "why researchers at Cambridge would use Cambridge student athletes"
