Of course I chose @erik_kaars title on purpose. Not to smear him, but bc he’s one of several people who’ve repeatedly misread/misframed the tweets of others while encouraging dogpiles. His book title can easily be misread (& for me, kinda triggery). That is the point

I think we will continue to disagree there. I agree that the long title cannot be, but the short title can, and I found it triggery the first couple times I heard it.

Okay, then it’s triggering for you. I have triggers too, but that doesn’t mean the title is inherently sexist or misogynistic. There are plenty of other publications with similar titles, do you take this same approach with those? Evidently not.

Please read again what I wrote. It’s an analogy. A short title like that is open to misreading & drawing conclusions about the author’s attitudes in the way he and others have misread &c statements by others — & used them to dogpile for months.

If you want to go the “who did what first/worst” route, I’m sure someone will play. I won’t. “Deserves” is not a word that works for me here. How badly any person in this has behaved is subjectively determined based on lots of factors for each of us.

Good question. And
@ADMedievalist: you’re literally digging yourself a trench of logical fallacies. And you’re better than this. Everyone is.2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes
@ADMedievalist you keep saying he has been dogpiling but you can’t be clear about that. You don’t directly address Halsall’s ableist and sexist insults and attacks, and when you say this is triggering and you get challenged on it, you move the goalposts again. This is ridiculous.
