Exactly; which is why removing Anglo-Saxon is no bad thing. The illegal Norman invasion and their drive (which still effects today's politics) that Britain was a backwards place; hence building over/destroying anything from before their arrival. Hasn't helped at all.

They didn’t destroy everything although there was certainly rhetoric at the time. They integrated and started calling themselves English. The Anglo-Norman ethnonym was also not common and a product of later writings generally. My friend
