Why didn't llamas make it to North America? Too many parasites in the tropics between them and the Plains? Just wondering why there weren't vast llama herds on the Great Plains

Might be. The ones in NA went extinct with the last ice age, so they moved south, and perhaps just adapted to those environments. Why they didn’t spread back I do not know.
