What @AdmiralHip said. Take the ten minutes and read the article.

I would never have responded on such a subject without reading it.

And yet, you failed to pick up on the salient points of the article which run contrary to your comments. If you have no interest in learning then that’s your problem but don’t just come in here with the same nonsense that
@ISASaxonists has been debunking.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

I just asked what views exactly I'm supposed to have regurgitated? I happen to think the article overeggs it. And hey, I might be wrong, but It think it's worth questioning.

Every thing you said. Literally all of it. And you haven’t responded in good faith in any event. If you don’t agree, that’s your problem. But why you felt it was worth stating and then playing ignorant wrt your response and how it read is frustrating.

You might think your response here is novel but you are just another rando on the internet who thinks they know better than the people with the sources and evidence. There have been countless others like you with responses like this. I’d ask you to reflect but I doubt you will.

No you told me I'd regurgited the views the article had debunked, which I did not. You now tell me it's everything I said, which I did not. Your tone is now personal and patronizing. That's fine. But just to say I have not done what you say

Yes you did, by claiming that Anglo-Saxon is a valid term and the Dark Ages could still be applied to Britain. The first one is basically the centre point of the article and why that idea is wrong and the Dark Ages were mentioned as a term medievalists do not use anymore.

The one being patronizing is you, since you came here to question the article which you said over-egged it (whatever that means).

Just to question the article is not patronizing. I mean I don't believe its arguments support its conclusions in the end. Excise misuse of the term, explicate the history of the field in this way, but to excise the term entirely is to over-egg it. This is what I meant.

Again, whether or not you agree with the article is your problem (not like you provided any actual reasoning with evidence), but your points you made were already points refuted with evidence in Dr MRO’s article. Which you’d know, since you read it (apparently).

I have given some reasoning to various tweeters. I have said I might be wrong. It's Twitter. The tweets I am getting now are rather unlovely, but since the tweeters believe I deserve it their conscience is clear.

Don't you see what our issue here is? Saying you might be wrong and then pushing in this same direction nonetheless does not signal respect in the online world. Have you ever posted something you care about and people don't try to understand it but disregard it to say their own?
