Also for the record, something having a “long history” doesn’t mean we have to keep using it nor does that impart any kind of validity. The Dark Ages being a good example as well.

And people have been using “Old English” rather than “Anglo-Saxon” for linguistic purposes for a very long time now. So that’s moot also.

I did a little research but I could have interpreted it wrong. Celtic is associated with white supremacy, like Anglo-Saxon, correct? Today is the first time I’ve heard scholars don’t use Celtic.

It has been associated with white supremacy, but outside of linguistics, we do not use Celtic to describe Irish/British/Welsh etc people anymore. And it’s use as an ethnonym for peoples in Gaul etc is heavily debated. For early medieval studies it is no longer used to ref to ppl
