I don't know if I want to ask where she thinks knitting was first developed. Or if she's noticed that there are examples of preserved textiles from *wherever that is* and they're not knitted until later
She said she had sources that backed up her evidence. She did say the sailor stuff was her own theory though. But the Aran stuff in particular is weird because even the Wikipedia page notes this stuff, and I think it has sources too.

I felt bad initially because I don’t want to dunk on an undergrad (idk if she is). But she was positioning herself as an expert, with her thesis. And now I’m annoyed because she’s trying to centre knitting being developed in Northern Europe it sounds, rather than N Africa/ME.
