I’ve never ordered from Deramores in the UK but they say they ship free to Ireland if order is over £40.

If you want to see what it feels like in terms of itchiness I’m happy to bring a hank from my stash for you to fondle.

Isn't Aran wool the warmest? It seems like it and it's soft. I love you even more now that I know you knit.

I picked it up when I moved to Ireland, and I really took to it. Aran wool is very warm, but the way it’s spun it usually worsted, versus woolen spun which I am told by a friend holds in heat better. Although Aran makes lovely dense sweaters, good for cables and such.2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -
Ooh I'm learning. I have up knitting for crocheting cause I found I could make more fun stuff but the gauging and yarn types still baffles me. We will have to do an academic group show and tell one day.

I rarely do gauges now, to be honest. I find they are never accurate for me. But I usually just knit shawls and scarves, so gauge isn’t so important. Sweaters are more complicated. I need to get some yarn for a sweater I wanna make, but it’s an Aran sweater so it takes a lot.
