Pretty upset about this. @WendyLBelcher thinks she can lie about what I said and how she attacked me and threatened me professionally. I am always willing to admit where I'm wrong, but all she did was be rude.

You are being gaslit. Just looking through the threads. It's not hard to correct someone and offer accurate information without knuckling and harping on the fact that they may be wrong. If we have PhDs then we should be using them to educate not just state that we have them.

All I can conclude is that they do not have the answer to your question (whatever that answer is: that the BL entry is wrong, or what it should say, or alt sourcing) and want people to be too afraid to double check future citations. But that's not your fault!

Field leaders need to be able to say "my bad, the website contradicts the notes I have from the curator, I'll pop them an email, attribution should be [blah]" because that shit HAPPENS. It happens, it's even common. Doubling down and yelling doesn't educate.
