Someone tweets about a texts called the Miracles of Mary, says it was a lost Greek text. Someone questioned this, I provided the BL entry. Someone else replies it was not Greek in origin, and when I pointed out the BL entry on the MSS proceeded to be incredibly rude.https://twitter.com/WendyLBelcher/status/1180557248977932289 …

Hey, if I'm wrong and was quoting an incorrect source, okay. I don't really have a problem with that. But I take issue with more senior scholars losing their shit at someone online for quoting a source to someone who was using an unscholarly source on a similar MS.

My question is this: if the BL entry is wrong, why do they attribute it to John Chrysostom? If it's incorrect then okay, my bad. I didn't know their entries on the Ethiopian texts were questionable.

Anyway I blocked Dr Belcher here because it was quickly turning terrifying, since I don't particularly appreciate being threatened by senior scholars because I got something potentially wrong (still not convinced on that though).
