I'm not sure it is either Greek or French. The vast majority of Ethiopian miracles stories are not European. Of course, Mary may have moved a church in Greek or French miracles, but the Ethiopian story itself may be different. I think this is about an Egyptian church. Checking.
The BL description says it is a translation of a text from John Chrysostom. That would have been in Greek originally.

But just because it was in Greek doesn’t mean it was set in Greece. Could have been an Egyptian miracle.

It says part of that manuscript was a translation, I believe. The Täˀammərä Maryam is massive, hundreds and hundreds of stories.
