Hey @TheMedievalDrK @AdmiralHip do either of y'all know of sources for the language for granting someone use of a piece of land? Any place or period, I ain't picky. Ditto fealty ceremonies.

Nothing off the top of my head specific but granting of land in a ritual was common in France from the 9th c to the 12th.

Same with fealty ceremonies. It’s funny you ask this because my friend submitted his thesis today and he talks about this stuff.

Maybe but I’ll have to ask him and he’s going to Japan for two weeks. I can check through the chapters I read through to give you some examples though.
