If you’re mad that a journalist didn’t include your particular speciality in their definition of medieval studies imagine how mad you would be if medieval studies itself denied your very existence as both a legitimate scholar and as a person. That’s the actual point of all this.

Full agree. But I also think what is telling is that the geographically limited definition previously given is perfectly emblematic of the long-standing “Anglo-Saxon” framework and its enduring influence, both academic and popular. It shows the white supremacy in the field.
