Many disabled people need plastic straws. And don’t come at me with “exceptions will be made”. We know they won’t. It’s already been happening. https://twitter.com/brianmlucey/status/1173486182937837569 …

i was refused a straw of any kind in vancouver and i had lost my own straw. i'm not disabled but straws keep me from aspirating.

these dumb bans make me want to buy a large pack of plastic straws so I can keep some with me at all times in case I encounter someone who needs one.

Appreciate the thought but please avoid language like dumb, it’s an ableist word.

what are acceptable substitutes then? i've heard the same about stupid and literally every other synonym I can think of that means "bad idea that I really fucking hate". it feels like every word is banned just like straws.

Ridiculous? Fucked up? Shitty? Bad? Awful? Terrible? So many words to use. Not that hard. But good job equating moving away from ableist language with the ableist banning of straws
