So there has been some discussion about bullying and harassment. We have a history of having academic bullies and by "we" I mean established, senior and even ECR scholars (like the one who did that Beowulf compilation). 1/10 #medievaltwitter #academictwitter

Do you mind if I ask about the Beowulf compilation? I feel OOTL on that.

Sorry missed this question. The reassessment author (not the reviewer to be clear) wanted to 'take down' a well-known female scholar. His misogyny knows no bounds.https://www.academia.edu/23720397/Leonard_Neidorf_ed._The_Dating_of_Beowulf_A_Reassessment_Cambridge_D._S._Brewer_2014_ …

This is frustrating, I disagreed with the late dating for Beowulf so when I initially read this volume I perceived it as having several good points, and was frustrated by an essay by (I think?) said female academic. But the review here makes good points as well plus 1/

I am super uncomfortable with citing people’s work where the background to it is based on some awful personal beef and misogynistic attitudes.
