We live in the middle of nowhere, in a huge house in a private cove on a stunning lake, every morning is like a postcard. If we lived in NYC, we’d probably live in a sub-let mailbox.

I live in uptown Manhattan. I can see the sun set over the Jersey cliffs. Every night is like a postcard. I know you weren’t trying to put down New York by stating the facts of housing there but it came off as a big condescending.

I took it as rural areas great, suburban areas not so much. New York is very diverse. It’s not just ugly high rises. I kind of like the chaos tho. I’d be bored to death on a lake having to drive everywhere. There’s a freedom to New York like nowhere else in the country.

She never said anything about it being ugly. She said she would probably end up living in a tiny sublet.
