Does anyone just really regret being friendly to other people?

Recently I decided to be a bit more open with an individual I met but I regret it because they were probably hitting on me and I think continued to do so after I indicated I was in a relationship, and they also said they were in a relationship at some point.

This person is a queer woman (and we need to have a conversation about attitudes towards flirting in the queer community btw), who seems to have extremely fetishistic attitudes towards Japanese people, and who ribbed me for having a Hotmail address (she called me old)

And took issue with me enjoying a certain festival in my hometown, and also for enjoying a certain beverage, and was really aggressive about bars/pubs when I was just neutrally telling her about a place in my hometown.

She also said that people with babies shouldn't fly. I sorta called her out on that and she apologised but I wonder if she would have continued ranting if I hadn't said anything.

But she seemed very neutral or measured in her opinions on racism and sexism in sci fi and fantasy. Which...I thought was weird. At the very least about the sexism.

I met this person as she was attending a certain convention in my adopted city. And she bragged about attending a certain afterparty when others didn't get in.

Anyway I feel like I should have been way more aloof than I had been because this person has given me way too much anxiety.

I dislike interacting with strangers. I dislike manoeuvring acquaintances I don't really want to know even more.

And I am awkward enough to not be able to just straight up tell someone I don't want to hang out or be their friend or whatever, largely because I cannot deal with the awkwardness that ensues afterwards and the potential that I'll make them upset.
