Join clubs/societies. If you are in STEM take a humanities course and vice versa for students in humanities. Look for your classrooms ahead of time. Read the syllabus. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Back up your work ALWAYS. Dropbox is free, gmail has cloud storage, get an external hard drive, email your work to yourself.

If you feel like your readings are too daunting: if it is a book, read the intro and conclusion first and then read the body. If they are primary sources, try to identify what kind of source it is and what is the surface information, then try to read between the lines.

You are allowed to look up context for your readings. If you don’t know something, google it. Google scholar is actually very helpful.
