Funny thing is as a kid whenever I saw lemonade stands in a movie, I wondered how the kids carbonated the drinks on the sidewalk. I concluded they must have been a fictional Hollywood thing as a result. It was only in 2017 that I realised USA lemonade is completey different.

Yeah closest thing in the US is Sprite. It's a rare example of the US version being LESS sugar-insane and MORE natural than the UK version of a thing.

But they are both “cola”. So they fall under one category. I have never seen anyone in the UK or Ireland say that sprite and 7up aren’t lemonade.
