It's strange because growing up in Canada I assumed it was like that everywhere...and I'm mad it isn't like that. Now granted there are lots of employers who fabricate a just cause to terminate someone, but all the places I worked, you have to commit a crime to get fired

I mean almost everyone I know has dealt with being laid off and being in a precarious position financially, but even that seems to be a different experience too, at least for them. Granted, I am coming from a privileged perspective as a white person though.
