I've been sleeping on this The Life of Captain Marvel series, but boy was that a mistake. Just caught up and I feel like I've been punched in the face by the fist of pathos. Thought it was a cheesy made-for-fans-of-the-MCU thing, but it's the best Captain Marvel book in years.

I heard some extended negative tirades on it lately that says it is a character assassination :/ I figured they were likely exaggerating though tbh.

It VERY directly makes HUGE changes to her backstory, but the changes aren't done without care and they make perfect sense. And they don't do anything to make her less of a character, imo, it just strengthens her history.

One thing they said was that it removes the agency she had in her own creation that the KSD run gave her.

And IMO the changes that the new book makes gives her a much stronger, more organic tie to... pretty much everything.

Fair enough, I haven’t read it but the way these guys were talking about it, sounded like the worst thing ever.

absolutely not. Honestly, I'm thrilled they'd be so bold. Because it's a huge change.

Well what I saw that they changed is pretty huge. I think it’s cool, personally.
