I have a question for you, twitter (and feel free to tell me to stay in my lane): sugar in spaghetti, am I right in saying this is a thing? I'm seeing a lot of people getting very upset at the notion of this.

I've heard it in a tomato-based sauce used on/with spaghetti, as it cuts the acidity of the tomatoes, but I wouldn't put it just on the noodles!

I don't really understand putting sugar directly on spaghetti noodles.

I don't want to knock it, but that's why I'm asking, I have a vague memory of being told it was popular among southern black families, but I don't want to perpetuate that if I'm wrong, so I'm just generally asking now.
