I seriously suspect non-Irish people going by an Irish name in English speaking settings after just moving to Ireland. It’s one thing to use the Irish version of your name when speaking in Irish but to introduce yourself as that when you move here to non-Irish and Irish people...

Like no wonder Irish folks roll their eyes at every tourist who is like “I’M IRISH TOO.” I think there are lots of interesting discussions to be had of developments of diaspora communities over time but hey let’s try to not be dicks about it.
