Alex has informed me that there are not one, not two, but three Robin Hood films in development from different production studios. One of them is from Sony, who wants to make a wider shared universe.

I do know a lot of people who'd love to rob from the rich and bring down corrupt officials, right now.
-
I suppose, so the irony here is that studios are wanting to make it probably to earn money.

And yet, no remake from Disney, despite that being arguably one of the most popular Robin Hood films

-
True. But Disney can smell money so what does that tell you lol.

"pretty good premise riding on nostalgia from multiple generations with no rights to pay for" probably sells itself in Hollywood
-
I suppose. I just can’t see how anyone expects these films to do very well.

Tbh I thought that „Robin Hood Cinematic Universe“ sounded interesting. It won’t be any good probably, but it could be cool... sort of telling a story of someone starting out as a supporter of the nobility and finding his humanity and resisting tyranny...
-
But that’s just hopeful thinking and probably they will all be as dire as the Russel Crowe version
