Let me paraphrase Geist: I didn't care about any of you, but when I found out increasing the sales tax was going to hurt large businesses I thought it might be a bad idea.
Leirion highlights Geist's vote for the consumption tax.
Geist:
"I pulled my support because what we found out is that there are many large businesses in our state that this would definitely hurt in a terrible way to the degree that they would probably leave the state, so I…Show more
Lol Suzanne never supported my SNAP bill, and she can leave me out of this. Geist doesn't get to use me to get centrist cred now that she's quit to run for mayor.
She said my bill allowing people with past drug convictions to apply for food assistance was soft on crime.
Geist says she supported "SNAP benefits for felons who were drug users, one of very few Republicans who supported a bill that came from Sen. @NebraskaMegan."
Mamma Mia, here we go again, with false claims of grooming.
But this time @NELegalAction defended a Central City teacher and got a man to back down:

Had a great view last night in Calgary! The aurora forecast for tonight is good again, so we'll see if the clouds hold out to let us have another good show.

I flew to space four times over the course of a decade and I’ve seen the effects of climate change on our planet first hand.
There is no planet B. This remarkable and fragile place is our only home and it’s our job to protect it for generations to come. #EarthDay
“We’ve seen the havoc that lies create for societies, democracies, businesses & families. Over the past 2.5 years, I’ve watched it firsthand. My customers, employees, family & friends face harassment, discrimination & threats to this day.” ~John Poulos

Thirty years ago, our Museum opened its doors. Since then, we've welcomed more than 47 million visitors, including over 100 heads of state and people from all 50 states and almost every country.
I’m worried about how the President is handling the debt ceiling. By ignoring it, he is walking us in to the first default in our nation’s history.
We have a responsibility to act for future generations—before it’s too late.
Update: Mr. Lagueux formally apologized to Dane Christensen, retracted his statement, and took down the offending post. We consider this matter closed.
Today we sent a message that we will stand by educators who are defamed and harassed. Mr. Christensen stated:
Today the Nebraska Legal Action Fund sent a retraction demand to Richard Lagueux for defaming Central City teacher Dane Christensen by falsely claiming that he groomed his students.
We are proud to defend the reputation and rights of Nebraska educators.

Facts matter. There is still work to be done, to be sure, but our community is doing far better than many would have you believe. I believe in Lincoln.

With University of Nebraska Chancellor Samuel Avery at the reins of a horse-drawn plow on a drizzly morning in Lincoln, ground is broken for Memorial Stadium, which will serve as the new home for Nebraska football upon its completion.
Dane is one of the most conscientious and pedagogically skilled graduates of the music ed program at UNL. His getting dragged into Nebraska's culture wars is disgusting and sickening.
What's wrong with our state? It's not "grooming" or LGTBQ+ anything. It's this right here.

Proud to represent Central City teacher Dane Christensen against this extremist.
He was called a groomer and harassed simply because a parent did not like a popular play that he directed with his students.

Berlyn Schutz. Ran her previous 1600 PR of 5:01 as an 8th grader, then placed 2nd at XC State as a freshman. She has been open about her brutal struggle with puberty. Ran a 4:51.73 today, 16 seconds faster than her previous HS best.
A role model. A beast. We're huge fans.
This is soo funny on multiple levels.
1. Condescending people who don’t want to pay for a website where they create the content.
2. Writing a 1,500 word essay on a platform for 280 character posts bemoaning narcissism.
3. Apparently NFC is into socialism now?
Tomorrow (4/21) is the last day to register to vote or request an early vote ballot by mail for Lincoln's General Election. Our office will be open extended hours until 6:00 PM. #VoteLNK

Benny Hochman loved Nebraska. He was a young teen when he was imprisoned with his older brother at Auschwitz. His brother, younger sister, and parents were all murdered at Auschwitz.
