When I asked why my insurance copay on this CT scan was more than a cash self-pay rate, I was told that the self-pay matches the best negotiated rate, i.e. the Medicare rate. So... why don't we all just have Medicare, again?

I remember getting calls and letters regularly denying post-cancer surgery treatment (radiation therapy, CT scans, etc) -- and they always caved after push-back from my specialists. I'd like to see the private insurance industry burnt to the ground so I can piss on the ashes.

This boggles my mind. I got what I thought was a nasty flu a few years ago, eventually went to my GP who sent me for a car scan. When she got the results back she called me and told me to go straight to the ER with serious pancreatitis. Ended up in for 2 or 3 nights, and...
