#LeiceterCity performance today meant they deserved the win. But VAR ruling that Son’s shoulder was 2cm offside for what would have been 2-0, makes a mockery of system. Margin of error is at least 13cm! Authorities should simply admit they can’t rule on such tight decisions

How subjective are those speeds?
-
The speeds don't really matter though, if Son's moving any more than 1m/s faster than the offside line (which he definitely was) then the tech is insufficient with him only 2cm offside at 50fps (2/2)

Can I point out the rather obvious issues here: The alternative is human sight, which has a resolution equivalent to 10-12fps, giving a range of error of 25-30cm - 10-12" This assumes the Ref or AR is in line, calibrated to be so, has a recorded image to review, forward and back
-
However, under VAR its offside or not. Under human eyesight, its offside, onside or for very tight calls, level. Level is onside. Son was basically level and this would previously have been a good goal.

The simple solution here is surely to say that offsides should be reviewed by looking at the video, but without drawing the ridiculous lines on the screen?

Surprised the napkin didn’t make an appearance when spurs benefited from var in the champions league QF....
yet it was celebrated and subsequent chants followed. - Još 1 odgovor
