Any reporting that does not discuss the degree of uncertainty we have about this important question is irresponsible propaganda. We are looking at a not insignificant probability for civilization ending changes.

People are dying by the millions for things such as car accidents, smoking, malnutrition, infectious diseases, lack of access to vaccines, lack of access to medical care and in proportion very few are dying from catastrophic weather events.

That is true. At the moment it is not a big issue. But 4 degrees centigrade could mean collapse of much of the open-air agriculture. In the worst case, we could even have the oceans tip, and cyanobacteria ruining the atmosphere.

People dying is also not intrinsically a problem. The things you mention above simply mean a slightly shorter life expectancy. But climate change may lead to a significant total population reduction, which implies mass starvation and hunger wars.

Right, the linked article corrects confusions on existing & immediately imminent damages (although — see coral reefs), yet insufficiently discusses serious medium term tail risks & how to effectively mitigate them. I say almost 0 about the former in:https://longitudinal.blog/co2-series-part-1-review-of-basics/ …
