Does anyone know how many m2 or acres of jungle/forests are needed to offset the carbon footprint of the average American family?

The amount of CO2 taken up by forests is 0.5 kg per square metre per year (https://www.carbonindependent.org/76.html ) / The average American's carbon footprint per person in 2014 was 21.5 metric tons CO2 (https://greenliving.lovetoknow.com/What_Is_the_Average_Carbon_Footprint …) => 3x21.5t/0,5/4046= 318m2

My calculation might be wrong but I have : 3 adults (+/- a family) x 21.5 tons each per year / divided by 0.5kg (per year per m2) divided by 4046m2 (an acre) => 318m2 for a familly

The above calculation gives 32 acres:https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%283*21.5+tons+per+year+%2F+%280.5+kg+per+m%5E2+per+year%29%29+in+acres …
