If famous people write it seems that then 1/3 of @AdamMarblestone's frontiers paper from 2013: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fncom.2013.00137/full … is enough for a neuron paper in 2019: https://www.cell.com/neuron/fulltext/S0896-6273(19)30695-6?rss=yes#secsectitle0015 … And this is why I think that Adam is one of the most creative people alive.

You are *extremely* kind Konrad. I love all serious physics of BAM roadmap papers. Both are raindrops in the hurricane of progress in neuro techniques that has been in full swing for the last few decades. Let’s record the whole mouse brain. Probably not with just electrodes—hah!

Why not? I like just electrodes!

Compartment-localized voltage imaging is going to be so sick in the next decade and we need to register it with the molecularly annotated whole brain connectome. But yes what this paper proposes is awesome.

To what degree is cell type / morphology correlatable with ion channel expression patterns? If we can predict ion channel expression from morphology, that would be helpful for structure-based simulations.

I believe those patterns are learned suggesting low correlation.

Learned at least in part at least sometimes

but also with some dependence on morphology and projection of course
