Initial data from NHS test and trace: - 5407/8117 (67%) of test positive cases transferred to tracing system - 32k contacts identified. 27k (85%) reached and advised to self isolate - Of contacts reached (and had data), 85% were contacted within 24hr https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/891693/NHS_test_and_trace_bulletin__England__-_28_May_to_3_June_2020.pdf …

For tracing to be effective, need high % of cases to get test results & have contacts traced fast. Another useful metric as system expands will be proportion of new cases already in quarantine (rather than previously undetected). E.g. data from Iceland: https://www.covid.is/data pic.twitter.com/tS1wFllUOX

8117 referrals? There seems to be over 1k missing from all the +ves identified that week 28/5/20 -3/6/20 What is the criteria for a referral and who makes it? Is there a gap between the +ve result & the referral? Do we know how long? Or were there several +ves for 1 person?

Not sure – agree would be useful to have more context.

In Australia the key statistic is “community transmission” cases - those originating from unknown source. Western Australia is requiring other states to have zero CT cases for three weeks before bidders open. States report CT stats since early April. See https://www.covid19data.com.au/

Id suggest 95% of Australian cases are in quarantine. 99% in NSW.

The metric is % of diagnoses made in quarantine, not % of current cases in quarantine. For Oz, 62%+ of detections have been arrivals from overseas, which gives an upper bound. (Not all arrivals quarantined early on.)
