    It will be a cold night for people sleeping rough, if you see someone doing so tonight, make sure they know that the SWEP is open.

    SWEP is open tonight (Wednesday 4 December). The SWEP (severe weather emergency protocol) shelter is open for all people who are rough sleeping in the city. ➡️ Find out more about help for rough sleepers:

    So many stations in the city are ending up unstaffed, which hits already underserved communities. With removal of guards on trains, it can make travel difficult for those with disabilities. Travel must be a human right, whether commuting or not, and it will be with Labour.

    This will be a tremendous help for people in Pavilion who have already been hit year on year by the rise in fares, but also is such an important plank of a real Green New Deal. Rail travel can’t leave anyone behind.

    The Tories have failed commuters for too long. Labour will take railways back into public ownership, cut fares by a third, provide free travel for under 16 year-olds and cut tickets for part-time workers.
