Massive thank you to @RossKemp for joining me in Clifton this morning. Only Labour will stand up for Nottingham's schools, NHS & Police.pic.twitter.com/l5bR9KK0ew
Ooh Twitter spat, can I join? Is more grammar schools UKIP's idea of standing up for kids, or just the ones whose parents can afford tuition
-
-
Adam, don't confuse grammar with private! Leave that to labour to say one thing and then educate their kids differently. Focus on output
-
No confusion, it's a fact that children from privileged backgrounds more likely to go to selective schools. Parents have time/money to coach
-
So increase number of grammar and give bright underprivileged kids that same opportunity. Notts needs change if we are not to fail more kids
-
What is failing kids is academisation, teacher workload, overtesting, Ofsted used as a political tool. No evidence more grammars will help
-
Would not contest workload, testing. Doing what we are doing & expecting a different outcome in Nottm is nuts. But no one speaks about it.
