BREAKING: Liz Truss' spokesman says its geological survey on the safety of fracking, due yesterday, will now *not* be published until after the mourning period.
The Conservative manifesto promised the ban wouldn't be lifted unless there was 'categorical' evidence it was safe.

So fracking is being given the go-ahead in the UK, despite the fact it breaks the Conservative manifesto and despite the fact we're not even allowed to see the evidence on its safety until weeks after the decision is announced.

If it does actually go ahead (which there is good reason to doubt) that is exactly what will happen

The Geological Survey can’t say fracking is “safe”. It can set out the risks and probabilities. It can also provide an estimate of shale gas resources and reserves. Whatever the govt’s spin, there is ALWAYS a risk of induced sesimicity and environmental pollution.

So they will use the Queen's death to backtrack on unpopular decisions rushed out in the last couple of days...

Or they've just realised that there are *no* commercially exploitable shale gas reserves available.
Ooops.

Usual Tory manipulation of events to their own advantage.
One assumes that the information will just be slipped out in 10 days or so with little or no scrutiny.
Truss must be seething at being totally upstaged and lacking any importance in her first week
