  2. The handful of corporations causing & profiting from the climate emergency need to start paying for the climate emergency. As part of the Green New Deal, the will push for a levy on coal to fund a doubling of the number of firefighters.

  3. Great work by the team and Labor in the Senate. This government hates scrutiny - but we won’t stop until we get to the bottom of this rot.

Member of the public gallery just stood up and said: "A question without notice. PM when will you declare a climate emergency? When will this government declare a climate emergency? What will it take for Morrison and others to declare a climate?" He was removed by security.

  11. I met a 17 yo young woman today who said she can’t think about her future more than 1yr ahead, because when she thinks about what the climate emergency will do to her in 5 or 10yrs, it all gets too much. It’s time to end the anxiety. It’s time to fight for a Green New Deal.

A Green New Deal means government leading the country in transforming our economy, creating new jobs and industries powered by clean energy and delivering universal services like dental into Medicare and genuinely free education. This is what I will be fighting for.

We are in the middle of a climate emergency and long running jobs and inequality crises. People are angry and anxious because the government has no plan for the big problems facing the country. This is why Australia needs a Green New Deal.

PM should release Gaetjens report. Failure to do so shows consistent lack of transparency. If the pork barrelling didn’t even breach the Ministerial Standards they are so weak they’re useless. We need an ICAC with teeth NOW. Govt’s ICAC bill is 16 months overdue and toothless.
