Lawmakers are paid by the NRA. Unfortunately those in charge will DO nothing. It is senseless that ANY citizen should own any kind of machine gun ir assault rifle. We need to look at other countries' gun laws and see how successful they have been against such violence.

I agree that some teachers and school officials should be armed but the REAL problem here is the ASSAULT RIFLES in CIVILIAN hands, they need to be BANNED from anybody other law officers and military personnel.

Gun control takes 17 more lives and why wasn't this teacher armed to protect students instead of using his body as a shield and being killed ?

There was an armed security guard trained to do just that, and was unable to save the 17 who were killed. Preventing the deranged person from accessing assault weapons seems more useful than arming & training teachers.
