UPDATE: @mcohiosheriff says the Northridge High School, 2251 Timber Lane, gymnasium has been opened for those affected by the storm event and have been displaced by damage. The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist in operating the emergency shelter. #DaytonTornado

We just spoke with a nurse from Brookville who was home with his wife when tornado struck. He says roads are impossible to drive on. Cars are turned over. He said it looks like a war zone. Rescue workers told him people are trapped under collapsed homes and trees. #daytontornado

He said he and his wife, who’s also a nurse, drove around as best as they could to try and help people. Both are trauma nurses. Kept coming back to saying it looked like a war zone. #daytontornado
