The 2022 #OHSen general election saw $106M and the primary election at $86M. They became the first and second most expensive elections in OH's history! Dems outspent Republicans $57M to $49.5M.
75% of all D spending came from Ryan and 22% of R spending came from Vance.

The top issues mentioned by the groups were taxation, abortion, and crime. The GOP groups focused heavily on taxation with 103K total airings on broadcast, while the Dem groups had 83K airings surrounding abortion.

In total 2022 House spending, GOP groups held a $18.7M advantage over Dem groups. The $49M CLF/NRCC advantage over HMP/DCCC played a big part in this discrepancy.

House races saw $1.4B during the 2022 Midterms. Four groups made up 42% of that total. GOP groups Congressional Leadership Fund and the NRCC spent $314M. Dem groups House Majority PAC and the DCCC spent $265M. This cycle, the 4 groups spent 36% more than they did in 2020.

GOP aligned Senate Leadership Fund spent $28M on the Senate election. This was their 6th largest investment in a state behind GA, PA, NC, OH, and WI. Dem group Senate Majority PAC spent $30M, making this Senate election their 3rd largest investment, behind PA & GA.

Primary spending for #WA03 was substantially larger than the general spending. One reason for this was Joe Kent and Heidi St. John's strong primary challenge to Republican incumbent Jaime Herrera Beutler. Beutler's vote to impeach President Trump played a key role in the primary.
