At the same time, what seems lost in the discussion around this article is that they seem to be using this primarily for quizzes, an area where they have known to rely on "fan-generated content" (ie, unpaid content creation) in the past

Assuming the stock price rallied at this news bc integrating AI implies "saving money on labor" (dark!) but the extremely silly thing is that AI-assisted written content is so factually unreliable it's likely to require more editors to make it publishable

The thing that makes media layoffs even more demoralizing than they already are is how companies always try assure everyone that they will magically be able to continue producing the same quality journalism with fewer people/resources. This is simply not true
