    Imagine what life would be like if the only “trusted” news source is the government, mandating what’s reported and controlling what appears in internet search engine results. I’ve visited places like that. They are not the United States of America.

    Trump in 2015: “Saudi Arabia, I get along with all of them. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.”

    For the record, I have no financial interests in Saudi Arabia (or Russia, for that matter). Any suggestion that I have is just more FAKE NEWS (of which there is plenty)!

    we’re not all bad at Trump rallies with - I asked for a photograph, shook his hand, told him that he’s not the enemy of the people, told him to keep doing what he’s doing and wished him well. And I’m a huge Trump supporter!

    It’s been emotionally difficult for me to re-read the pieces wrote for . He was deeply pained at the dark turn Saudi Arabia has taken. It comes through in this piece after the detention of women activists this year.

    Lobbyists repping Saudis and now bolting get to enjoy the best of both worlds. They charged extra high fees for the longest time because of reputational risks and now they can flee with pockets full of cash and try to claim moral high ground.
