    New paper published in by 's Pavel Klimov & colleagues about ultraslow morphological evolution in soil mites Eocene mites preserved in amber reveal the “average” mite evolved 627 times slower than the “average” theropod dinosaur.

    Big brown bat pups have a tendency to fall out of their bat houses on occasion, so some citizen scientists have attached “pup catchers” under their boxes. Here is a video of a pup climbing her way back home. You go little one! 🦇

    New article supporting horseshoe crabs as arachnids is especially interesting because it suggests that mites+pseudoscorpiones may have branched away from the rest of Arachnida by the Ordovician (when horseshoe crabs first appear in the fossil record).
