  10. Due to icy conditions, the Paradise Hill and Lower Mountain portions of the Park Loop Road are closed. Access remains open from Kebo Street, south to Jordan Pond, exiting at Stanley Brook entrance. Easiest access is at the Sieur de Monts entrance on Rt. 3

  17. On Thursday afternoon, park rangers will close Echo Lake, Western Mountain Road, Lurvey Spring Road and Long Pond Fire Road. This will allow park staff to concentrate on main travel arteries in the wake of an approaching storm Thursday night into Friday.

  19. Due to forecasts for an approaching storm, rangers are taking preemptive steps to close Blackwoods Campground Thursday night. Campers are asked to leave by 10 am Thursday. Peak winds of 30-40 mph, with gusts to 60 mph, and 1-2 inches of rain are expected.

  20. The Hulls Cove Visitor Center will close for the season Oct 31. On Nov 1, park staff will relocate to the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce, 2 Cottage St., in downtown Bar Harbor to provide information about visiting the park, 8 am to 4 pm daily. More at
