Question: how can LA policymakers reduce traffic, pollution, and housing costs? Answer: stop forcing apartments and stores to build parking. My op-ed in today's has more:

“Voters cited homelessness, housing affordability and traffic congestion as the city’s most pressing issues. Ambitious parking reform could strike a blow against all three problems at once, without costing a penny.” -

One of the reasons YIMBYs are here is to give heart to people who've been beaten into complacence by NIMBYs. 4.5 years ago, ADU's were a "political third rail." Now they're legal in every backyard. What else can we accomplish when we fight NIMBYism?

Come tonight to advocate for more housing near transit; just because may have stalled doesn’t mean we don’t have work to do locally!

Sen. says she's voting "yes" on with all the local governments in her district opposing it, because those local governments haven't done enough to fix the housing crisis on their own.

We’re working to grow pro-housing voices and coalitions - in a county of 10 million, it will take time to filter up to electeds. But we’ll get there! We just wish it could have already happened, due to the urgency.

We’ve had 30+ years of no growth/slow growth thinking, even as the social & environmental costs have increased, many elected officials ‘learned their politics’ during that era. Some are too stuck in the past to change, others know better but are afraid of wealthy homeowners..

Plain and simple from Senator Bill Monning : "The housing crisis is linked to the climate crisis."👏

Sen. says highest job growth areas are also where housing is most expensive. Only high job growth areas that saw decreased housing costs are those that have built a lot more housing (and they're not in California).

SW: " is an additive bill. It's not about replacing communities. If there's been a renter living on the property for the past 7 years, you can't get a demo permit under sb50"

Just called State Senator to voice my support for SB50, the critical density bill designed to address California’s housing crisis. If you think housing is too expensive, call your State Senator today. The bill has to move forward by this Friday.

The folks are hoping residents of SD 35 can call Senator Bradford and ask for his support! You: Hi! My name is ---. I live in ---- at -----. I would like my Senator to vote YES on Senate Bill 50. We need more housing and ------. Them: Thank you!
