Tempted to do a live stream this week on the second channel Abroad Perspective, given I'll be with Natsuki, Pete, Sharla and Chiaki all in one spot. I'll try and announce it a few hours beforehand - though I imagine it'll be fairly drunken and spontaneous.

If you only watch today's Abroad in Japan video for one moment, it should be to hear the most chilling, evil, sadistic, maniacal laugh of all time. Here's the timestamped link: ► That aside, this is one of my fave videos in ages!

I don't know how or why or when or where, but the Climbing Mount Fuji video is no longer blocked on Youtube. It's a f*cking miracle!

My suggestion is "Black Rain" (Ridley Scott, 1989). Because it's so ridiculously over the top, that it somehow works. It's every clumsy stereotype bundled into 125minutes with Michael Douglas thrown in, and some spectacular cinematography of Osaka at night.

What's the one film that you should watch before coming to Japan? A friend is visiting later this year and I'd like to send him a hit list of movies set in Japan, to get him fired up for the upcoming trip.
