When you think about it, a "urine search" seems pretty creepy and invasive. Drug tests, "urinalysis" or urine searches are normalized and we accept this as part of life. But to reflect that anyone would want and need to search a person's urine, from inside their body, is weird.

I have done about 20 drug tests since I released from prison in June. About 18 have been urine searches. They were for my Medically Assisted Treatment program. DOC has me doing oral swabs, which are less invasive-but it's really about the whole awkward gender differences & rules.

If you think a urine search is weird or invasive, It gets worse: In prison they can put someone on "poop watch" if they REALLY want to know what's up their ass. A person is detained or cuffed in a little room with a potty seat until they make a number of solid poops (usually 3).

Not sure how long it will take for the slave catchers (Community Corrections Officers) to figure out that there is nothing to see in my home, but it's been 7 months of spontanious visits and finding nothing. How many more months will it take to leave me alone? Never ends.

I was running late for a medical appointment and my CCO pulls up as I'm leaving. Asks to come in and look around. Do I really have a choice? If I would have asked him not to, then what? A moment when I realize I am not in prison but also not free.

I am moved by my values and not by the law. Case in point: one may lie to their kids and cheat on their spouse and it is perfectly legal. Does that make it right? And some things may be right, but are illegal. That is why I am an anarchist who thinks for myself. What do you say?

If the ASPCA is paying a 6 figure salary (000,000) to 159 employees, how much money is left for the animals? Please donate to local animal shelters. Most of the money goes not to commercials and salaries, but to the animals-and that is what we want, right?

Why I'm OVER crazy dog people: I arrive & dog jumps all over me and barks so loud I can't hear and I am yelling to the dog owner I can't hear. Dog owner snaps at me "I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to her!" No thought, concern, or respect for me or my dirty jeans. Rude!

Should people decide to disrupt and boycott police auctions? If you believe state agents are scheming to seize property to sell for profit, you may decide to do so! That funding may go to agencies for surveillance, capture, punishment!!!

Is it just me, or is it a good idea to boycott and crash police auctions? All the money they get contributes to funds for surveillance, violence, and detention! Anything bought at auctions funds their violence! FUCK POLICE AUCTIONS!!!

I think I'm gonna stop the whole high-brow joking on social media. I'm tires of feeling like a nerd bc most people don't get it. Even worse, I don't want to be misunderstood. Once a snarky remark got me suspended bc Twitter thought I was actually serious.
Somewhere along the way the concept of changing structures instead of helping each individual has become trendy and quite literal. I feel like some people refuse to EVEN TRY TO HELP ANYONE anymore, instead favoring institutional and structural change. Missing the point!

What I am learning about myself is that my need for human connection lies not only in my desire for others to be there when I need them most, but also in my desire to be there for others and to feel needed.

A CDC analysis estimates 120,000 people treated for hepatitis C yearly in the US. An amazing drug called Mavyret, which is highly effective, costs 26,400 for two months (average treatment). That cost for 120,000 would be 3,168,000,000 yearly. Yes, that is over 3 billion.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has shown me love and support recently. I tried to thank everyone individually. I can't tell you how much it means to have people show up for me when it matters most. You know who you are!

A guy who calls himself "Dangerous Dave" hit on me and asked how much trouble could we get into. I told him I just got out of prison and I'm trying to stay out of trouble. He got scared, ran off, and blocked me. Time for "Dangerous Dave" to get a new nickname! Nervous Purvis?

We live in a world where people are canceled for so much as saying the wrong thing. What is the result? I believe the most calculating and devious among us simply say what people want to hear. I'd rather live in a world where I KNOW who people are. I DO NOT support cancel culture

After researching the matter regarding whether pepperspray is legal to carry in WA for a person in community custody, I have come to the conclusion that it could be a violation of conditions. It may be considered an injurious gas, which is listed as a deadly weapon.

It seems the world has changed. I don't like feeling that I have to be measured with my words or I may get canceled. I just ask if I say something wrong that people blame it on my head and not my heart.

I'm under the DOC supervision community custody. I learned that when given discretion of how long to supervise, no matter how low the risk, DOC always chooses the longest possible term. An example of why they must have their authority limited. Who needs supervision? Me? They do!

I just got an alert that an unrecognized Samsung SM-A536V just logged in near me! Is this really a thing? And should I be scared? Is the terminator after me or something? What is the big threat here*

I see posters for community accountability and restorative justice that look great. I see slogans that warm my heart. But when I actually try to practice these values and processes, where is the help? Seems great in theory, but I can't do it alone.

I did 18 years in prison for surviving DV. Now I am forced to do 4 years community custody with 50 weeks of DV classes costing $2000 or go back to prison. I will unpin this tweet when I reach my goal of $2000. Please donate or share this paypal link:

Ever see those sad ASPCA commercials featuring dogs and cats? A story claims in 2018 CEO Mathew Bershadker made $770,000 & 158 other employees made 6 figure salaries. Another 89 Million went to fundraising (commercials). Anything left for animals? Donate to LOCAL animal shelters!

I just discovered how incredibly delicious this coffee is! After trying this coffee I was a mixrure of excited and angry. Angry like, why didn't anyone tell me about this before? If you are a coffee drinker and have never tried Kona coffee, do yourself a favor!

Did you know that the building of The Panema Canal caused the death of more than 30,000 workers. That represents about 40% of the workers responsible for its construction. Most were Irish laborers and German stone masons. A billion dollar renovation is currently underway.

I can't find the Washington State DOC policy concerning community custody and rules for possession of weapons. I was told I can't have pepperspray for self defense, yet I havent seen this in policy. Does anyone know the actual policy for this?
