パラオ諸島にあるペリリュー島は、戦前には日本海軍の飛行場があり、飛行場を巡って、米軍と陸軍14師団が熾烈な戦闘を繰り広げ、玉砕しました。しかしながら日本の戦死者の遺骨収集事業が進んでおりません💤😭💥

パラオ共和国も現在、中国共産党の侵攻に 情勢が不安定な地域となっているようですね 対抗するために米軍基地の誘致の話も 出ているようですが 安倍総理提唱の日米豪印のダイヤモンド構想が ミクロネシア諸国に大きな壁とならんことを願います
