    When we heard about Flint, I was Director of the Health Department in Detroit – and we tested every school in the city for lead. The water wasn’t safe in too many places where we keep our kids. We have a water crisis in MI. We have to act like it.

    If you want to serve people, you have to listen to them first. And I mean LISTEN – Go to their cities. Talk to them on the phone. Take their donations over corporate ones. ...and once you do that, actually write the policies that serve them. That's what politics is for.
